Transfer Terms of Service

Every hosting account comes with a free basic account transfer. We will make every effort to transfer the hosting account successfuly from your previous host to our servers. Due to the possibility of other hosting companies having a different server configuration than HostMetro, we can not guarantee that any or all data will be transferred successfully. The hosting account will be transferred 'as is,' meaning we can not guarantee that the data will function the same after the transfer.

FREE BASIC TRANSFER

The basic account transfer that is included with every hosting purchase is limited to the following:

  • 1. Must be redeemed within 30 days of account creation.
  • 2. Account size can not exceed a total of 3GB
  • 3. The website must currently be hosted on a cPanel/WHM server.
  • 4. Previous hosting account must be active so we may gain access to it.
  • 5. Old account must remain active for the duration of the transfer.
  • 6. Client must give HostMetro temporary FTP and/or cPanel access to the old host.
  • 7. Multiple external accounts cannot be consolidated into a single HostMetro account*

*In the event you have multiple hosting accounts and want to transfer them all to a single HostMetro account, each outside hosting account will be considered a premium transfer and will be billed as such.

If any or all of these conditions are not met then your account will fall under the "premium account transfer" section.

PREMIUM ACCOUNT TRANSFER

The premium account transfer is for accounts that do not fall within the scope of the basic transfer guidelines. These transfers require more time and resources to move, for which we charge a one time fee of $29.95. We can not guarantee that any or all files, databases, email addresses, etc. will work properly due to the differing configurations between a cPanel and a non cPanel host.

PLEASE NOTE: In the event that an account requires a premium account transfer we will confirm the transfer as well as the $29.95 fee with you. This fee is non-refundable and can not be reversed in the event that the transfer is not completed successfully.
